This is the website of author Kaveel Lilmohun (lilmohunkaveel.com). This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and which bookstores they click
through to. Google Analytics uses cookies (named _ga and _ga_<ID>) that last up
to two years, and collects things like the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate
location. It does not tell us who you are. Google processes this data under its own
privacy policy.
If you are in the European Union, the UK or Switzerland, these cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time:
You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
To show you the right local store links (for example the Amazon store for your country), the site sends your IP address to geolocation-db.com, which returns your country. The country name is then saved in your browser's local storage so the lookup doesn't run again. It never leaves your device after that, and you can clear it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The contact form and the "Get notified" form are provided by Tally (tally.so). Whatever you type into them, such as your name, email address, country and message, is sent to Tally and then to us. We only use it to reply to you, to let you know about new books and formats if you asked us to, and to send the newsletter if you ticked that box. We never sell it or share it with anyone else. Ask us any time to stop emailing you or to delete your details. Tally handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Some fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may keep short-lived technical logs to keep it secure and fast.
Links to bookstores such as Amazon, Kobo, Takealot, Smashwords, Fable and Vivlio take you to their websites, which have their own privacy policies. We only record which store you clicked (through Google Analytics, as described above), not anything you do on the store's site.
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK or POPIA in South Africa, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond as soon as we can. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Regulator in South Africa.
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
